Topography is a very valuable way in which to assess any cornea but especially for keratoconus. The SGHO uses the Oculyser which is based on pentacam (scanning) technology. This type of readout gives excellent information about the anterior egment of the eye but can be a little lacking in detail required by contact lens fitters. Placedo based topography gives much richer detail but does not give readings from limbus to limbus.
